Third party interference in Yahoo’s web space will no longer be an option as Facebook and Google access on all Yahoo services will be terminated
Marissa Mayer continues her transformation in Yahoo, this time she isn’t making the headline for her purchasing spree. Rather, her company has concluded plans to stop users from accessing any of Yahoo’s service with their Facebook or Google accounts. Basically, Yahoo is saying all her users must go back to the roots-Yahoo sign-in. So if you forgot your password, you really have to make the recovering if you ever want to continue using Yahoo’s services.
“Yahoo is continually working on improving the user experience,” the company said in a statement, noting that the new process “will allow us to offer the best personalized experience to everyone”.
In 2010, Yahoo started allowing third-party logins but it appears the company’s philosophy has changed since Marissa Mayer became the boss. While the company gave no definite time-frame when Facebook and Google button will completely disappear from all of its web properties, the change has already happened on its Fantasy Sports service.
