The Chinese government is seeking explanation from the United States over allegations linking the NSA to spying on Huawei servers.China through its foreign ministry is demanding a clear-cut explanation from Washington over a report that claims the NSA infiltrated servers mounted at the headquarters of China’s telecom giant Huawei Technologies Co.
This is coming few days after Facebook’s co-founder and Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg expressed his frustration over what he calls “the repeated reports of the behavior of the U.S. government.” There have however been multiple reports of the NSA collecting user’s data, especially the infamous Edward J. Snowden report which exposed details of NSA surveillance programs to the press last year.
China is “extremely concerned” about all the spying allegations from the NSA especially as it relates to its indigenous telecom company Huawei.
“Recently, the international media has put out a lot of reports about the eavesdropping, surveillance and stealing of secrets by the United States of other countries, including China,” Hong Lei, China’s foreign ministry spokesman said in a briefing.
China wants the United States to stop such spy programs if the explanation they demand shows sign of NSA infiltration.
“China has already lodged many complaints with the United States about this. We demand that the United States makes a clear explanation and stop such acts.”
China and the U.S. have recently made the headlines over cyber undercover works which has equally cast a shadow over ties between the United States and China.
